Text message terms and conditions

NC Medicaid Paperless Notifications

PO Box 613 Morrisville NC  27560

By entering your cell phone number and checking the terms and conditions box on the Enrollment and contact information page:

You are telling NC Medicaid Managed Care that you are the wireless service plan subscriber or authorized user of the cell phone number you entered to get text messages or that the plan subscriber or authorized user of the cell phone number gave you permission to enroll that number.

You agree to tell NC Medicaid Managed Care if your cell phone number changes.

You give NC Medicaid Managed Care permission to send text messages to the enrolled cell phone number through your wireless phone carrier, unless and until you end permission per these terms and conditions.

By giving this permission to NC Medicaid Managed Care, you are asking to get text messages that tell you there is a new letter in your secure online NC Medicaid Managed Care account. Text messages will not be used to sell you products. You do not have to agree to get text messages in order to buy any product or service from NC Medicaid Managed Care. You will not get marketing messages. While you are signed up for text messages, you will not get paper letters by mail.

NC Medicaid Managed Care short code is: 31758

NC Medicaid Managed Care will send a text message when you have a letter in your secure online account. To view letters, select the link in the text message. Then log into your account. In the top right corner of the webpage, select “View letters.”

To stop getting text messages: You can stop getting text messages at any time by:

  • Changing communication preferences on the Enrollment and contact information page in your secure online account. Uncheck the box beside where you enter your cell phone number. You can access your secure online account through the free NC Medicaid Managed Care mobile app or at ncmedicaidplans.gov.

or

  • Calling 1-833-870-5500 (TTY: 1-833-870-5588). Tell us you want to stop getting text messages.

or

  • Replying STOP from your cell phone when you get a text.

If you reply STOP to a text message, text only the word STOP without any other words, spaces or characters before or after the word STOP. You will stop getting that type of text message.

NC Medicaid Managed Care will try to stop sending you text messages if you send a text stating your clear and unmistakable intent to stop. But your messages do not go to a human. They go to a short, automated code number. It has very limited ability to understand your messages. So it might not stop unless you reply only with the word STOP.

When you text STOP or change your communication preferences, you will get one last confirmation text message from NC Medicaid Managed Care. It will say that you will stop getting text messages. If you change your communication preferences, it may take up to 48 hours for it to take effect. During this 48-hour period, you might get text messages from NC Medicaid Managed Care. You agree that your consent to get text messages continues unless and until you cancel your consent.

Get help or support: For help or answers to questions, call 1-833-870-5500 (TTY: 1-833-870-5588). You can also reply HELP to a text message. You will get a text with contact information.

Message and Data rates may apply.

Message frequency: The number of messages you get will vary. NC Medicaid Managed Care will send a text message when there is a new letter to view in your online account. When you opt into text messages from NC Medicaid Managed Care, you agree to get messages when there is a letter.
